Job summary

Amey Consulting in Scotland is seeking a permanent Structural/Bridges Engineer to join our team and work on major civil infrastructure projects. You will contribute from inception to completion, producing designs, calculations and drawings that meet quality, cost and programme targets.

You will mentor junior staff, liaise with clients, and help drive health and safety, project delivery and sustainability across multi-discipline schemes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an appropriate subject or demonstrable equivalent further learning.
• Experience within the structures field, likely from an Assistant Engineer role or equivalent.
• Ability to produce technically sound engineering solutions compliant with relevant standards (DMRB, Eurocodes).

Responsibilities

• Producing technically sound engineering solutions.
• Taking ownership and supporting management and technical delivery of projects from start to finish.
• Preparation of designs, calculations, drawings and documentation for scheme deliverables.
• Supporting and guiding more junior staff undertaking similar tasks.
• Contributing to professional development of junior staff and pursuing your own development.
• Liaising with client and supplier representatives and attending progress meetings.
• Working within a locally based technical team and delivering activities within a scheme project and team portfolio.
• Contributing to bid preparation and general work-winning functions.
• Driving health and safety practices within the team.
• Demonstrating sustainability practices in engineering.
