Job summary

WSP’s Civil and Bridge Engineering team in the South West & Wales is seeking a Senior/Principal Engineer to drive delivery of civil and bridge projects, mentoring juniors, and ensuring quality on time and within budget.

You will work on UK and overseas bridges, apply Eurocodes and DMRB standards, and lead design teams across disciplines while engaging with clients and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer with proven bridge design experience.
• Experience in bridge maintenance, assessment and strengthening.
• Knowledge of Eurocodes and national standards.
• Proficiency with design software such as LUSAS, Superstress or SAM.

Responsibilities

• Lead bridge design and delivery for UK and overseas projects.
• Mentor junior engineers and CAD technicians.
• Oversee feasibility studies and option appraisals.
• Prepare fee estimates and technical reports.
• Ensure work meets health and safety standards.
• Coordinate with clients and other engineering teams.
