Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior/Principal Engineer to lead civil and bridge projects in the UK, driving quality on time and within budget. You will mentor junior team members and contribute to business growth within a 120-strong Civil and Bridge Engineering team in the South West & Wales.

The role requires Chartered status and extensive bridge design, maintenance and assessment experience, with knowledge of Eurocodes, DMRB and MCDHW, plus FE tool proficiency.

Qualifications

• Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer with relevant professional status.
• Experience in bridge design, maintenance and assessment on site and in design office.
• Knowledge of DMRB/MCDHW and Eurocodes applied to bridge design.
• Experience with steel, reinforced and prestressed concrete bridges.
• Proficient in FE tools such as LUSAS, Superstress or SAM.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of civil and bridge projects to quality, time, and budget.
• Mentor and support junior team members across the bridges team.
• Conduct feasibility studies, option appraisals and fee estimates.
• Prepare reports, drawings, and health and safety assessments.
• Coordinate design activities with internal teams and external clients.
