Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking a Chartered Civil/Structural Engineer to join our Civil and Bridge Engineering team. The role offers involvement across UK and overseas projects, with opportunities in Cardiff, Bristol, Exeter & Truro offices.

You will provide technical leadership, mentor junior staff and lead tenders while ensuring design excellence, quality, and timely delivery in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer with design/assessment experience.
• Experience in bridge design, maintenance and assessment on construction sites and in design offices.
• Project management of bridge projects.
• Knowledge of DMRB and MCDHW guidance.
• Understanding of Eurocodes in bridge design.
• Experience with steel, reinforced and prestressed concrete bridges.
• Experience with grillage, space frame and finite element tools (LUSAS, Superstress, SAM).
• Strong communication and client handling skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership to design and assessment teams.
• Lead design teams and mentor junior members.
• Deliver quality on time and within budget.
• Lead tenders and client relationship management.
• Manage resources and coordinate multi-disciplinary inputs.
• Agree fees and manage project commercial position.
• Supervise and mentor junior team members.
