Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking an Engineer to deliver civil and bridge projects and to supervise junior team members. You will work on bridge design, strengthening, inspections and feasibility studies within a supportive, collaborative environment.

The role requires a Civil/Structural background, chartership progression, and strong communication skills to manage costs and client interactions across varied projects.

Qualifications

• MEng or MSc in Civil or Structural Engineering with chartership trajectory.
• Graduate membership with ICE or IStructE, progressing toward chartership.
• Experience in bridge design, maintenance or assessment.
• Knowledge of Eurocodes or sector standards (e.g. Network Rail, DMRB).
• Interest in finite element analysis software and parametric design techniques.
• Commercial awareness and ability to manage costs.
• Good report-writing skills and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Bridge design and related civil/structural engineering tasks.
• Bridge strengthening, repair, inspections and assessments.
• Support other teams with civil/structural input.
• Conduct feasibility studies and options appraisals.
• Prepare specifications, reports and health & safety risk assessments.
• Prepare fee estimates and supervise junior team members.
