Job summary

Randstad Sourceright is recruiting a Bid Manager for Siemens Mobility in Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Leicestershire. Lead high-value bids (£100k to £10m) across CIS portfolio, owning governance from LOA to handover and driving cross-functional teams to successful, compliant proposals.

Role requires senior bid leadership, stakeholder engagement, and ability to deliver profitable tenders while managing budgets and complex portfolios. 6-month contract with potential extension, on-site in Ashby.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years management experience in an engineering project-based business.
• Experience leading bids > £5m and managing bid budgets over £250,000.
• Strong understanding of railway technology and how projects are structured and delivered.
• Governance and commercial acumen with structured processes.
• Proactive, high-achieving self-starter with excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive bids through full lifecycle from bid/no-bid to contract award.
• Define and implement winning bid strategies and coordinate technical, commercial, financial, and pricing elements.
• Prepare and review tender documentation to ensure quality and risk mitigation.
• Manage internal governance deliverables and sign-off.
• Lead multi-disciplinary tender teams and report progress to executives.
• Engage with client during pre- and post-submission discussions and negotiate outcomes.
• Create and deliver high-impact presentations up to board level.
• Oversee project handover and mobilisation to delivery teams.
• Budget and process management with governance aligned to internal policies.
