Job summary

Siemens Mobility is seeking an Estimator to join the Bids and Tendering team across Rail Infrastructure. Based in Ashby, York, Manchester or Chippenham, you will coordinate estimates from multidisciplinary teams and contribute to successful, well-prepared bids.

This safety-critical role requires collaboration with Project Managers and Bid Managers on larger bids and overseeing smaller bids and variations. You will input data into Benchmark/Tender templates, ensure data accuracy, and assist in

Qualifications

• Good understanding of engineering activities and methodologies.
• Financial and commercial awareness with a customer-focused approach.
• Ability to work independently under pressure with minimal supervision.
• Strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel and Word.
• Excellent communication and teamwork with bid, delivery, commercial, procurement, planning and finance teams.
• Experience in estimating and knowledge of estimating software; willingness to travel between offices.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for all allocated estimates, including determination of the appropriate structure of the estimate.
• Input estimate data into the estimating database (Benchmark) or Tender Template and check data for consistency, errors, omissions, and accuracy.
• Coordinate inputs from all other costing disciplines, ensuring consistency and quality.
• Input and direction into the project plan, aligning with WBS, Railway Method of Measurement and Tender Template.
• Benchmark by analysing current and historical data to justify costs and pricing accuracy.
• Create reports for presentation and reviews.
