Job summary

Randstad Sourceright is recruiting a Commercial Manager to join a world‑leading manufacturing organisation. The role is based in Ashby de la Zouch with a hybrid work structure (3 days in the office) and a rolling 6+ months contract.

The position focuses on pre‑contract commercial activities across infrastructure and construction bids, requiring NEC3/NEC4 knowledge, strong RAID management, and collaboration with bid, legal and technical teams to deliver robust, compliant submissions.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of proven experience as Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor.
• Experience supporting major infrastructure, rail, telecoms, power, or construction projects.
• In-depth practical understanding of NEC3/NEC4 forms of contract and contract review skills.
• Hands-on tendering, bidding and pre-contract lifecycle experience.

Responsibilities

• Review ITT documentation, contract terms, pricing schedules and commercial specs.
• Collaborate with Bid Managers to build compliant tender submissions.
• Lead commercial reviews across the bid lifecycle and advise on clarifications, negotiations and approvals.
• Identify departures from standard contract positions and help set the commercial strategy.
• Review and interpret NEC3/NEC4 and Network Rail forms of contract.
• Identify risks, liabilities and commercial opportunities; draft qualifications and assumptions.
• Support negotiations with clients, suppliers and partners.
• Coordinate with Legal and Procurement to flow down requirements into subcontracts; lead RAID workshops.
