Job summary

University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Network Support Engineer to join our Technical Infrastructure team. You will help maintain and develop our enterprise network across multiple hospital sites, ensuring reliable services for patient care and clinical systems.

The role requires hands-on experience with LAN/WAN/WLAN, TCP/IP, DHCP and DNS, plus Cisco and/or Extreme technologies. Excellent troubleshooting, communication and teamwork are essential as we drive digital

Qualifications

Experience supporting enterprise network environments.
Knowledge of LAN, WAN, WLAN, TCP/IP, DHCP and DNS.
Experience with Cisco and/or Extreme networking technologies.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Relevant networking qualification (e.g. CCNA) or equivalent experience.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

Maintain and develop the network environment across hospital sites and troubleshoot issues.
Support service improvements and contribute to digital transformation initiatives impacting patient care.
Collaborate within the Technical Infrastructure team to deliver reliable network services.
