Job summary

The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Senior IT Officer in Network and Telecoms to join the IT Infrastructure team. You’ll provide third-line network support across a wide Cisco campus network, remote sites and telephony systems, driving design workshops and roadmaps.

Key requirements include degree in IT or equivalent, strong Cisco/telephony knowledge, and the ability to lead technical projects and provide out-of-hours support in a large NHS environment.

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level in an IT related subject or equivalent level of experience.
• Significant experience in a third-line network support role.
• In-depth knowledge of IT hardware, network and communications, especially Cisco.
• Experience with ITIL service delivery and cloud technologies.

Responsibilities

• Provide third-line network and telecoms support across the Trust.
• Lead on design workshops, roadmaps and technology evaluations.
• Project manage hardware implementations and system upgrades.
• Provide on-call support and maintain network availability.
