Job summary

iwoca is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Customer Operations Platform in hybrid London. You will own backend services, design scalable architectures, and collaborate with Operations and Finance teams to improve processes and automation across systems.

You will mentor junior developers and drive technical excellence, balancing delivery with long-term reliability, while leveraging AI to optimize workflows and customer outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience developing and owning shared backend services used by multiple teams.
• Experience building distributed systems in complex domains.
• Ability to translate operational needs into technical architecture.
• Experience using AI tools to automate tasks.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end projects across multiple systems and stakeholders.
• Design, build and own production-ready solutions in collaboration with Ops, Credit and Collections teams.
• Perform scoping and prototyping to validate feasibility before roadmapping.
• Mentor junior developers and share best practices across the team.
