Job summary

iwoca is seeking a Back End Engineer for the Partner Flow team. This hybrid London/UK-wide remote role focuses on partner integrations, the Lending API, and embedded flows enabling iwoca loans within partner customer journeys.

You will own features end-to-end, collaborate with engineers and stakeholders, and design scalable systems that drive real impact for partners and customers. AI-enabled development is encouraged and codified across projects.

Qualifications

• Design and build scalable back-end systems, preferably Python.
• Experience with relational databases, ideally PostgreSQL, with performance considerations.
• APIs that are easy to use, reliable, and well-documented.
• End-to-end project management from understanding problems to delivering solutions.
• Balance delivery speed with long-term system health.
• Clear, concise written and verbal communication, focusing on outcomes.
• Team player who shares knowledge and supports the team's success.
• AI fluency and using AI coding tools to accelerate delivery.

Responsibilities

• Own features and projects from scoping and design through to production.
• Collaborate with other engineers to meet team goals and define solutions.
• Design and maintain robust, scalable systems for fast-paced development.
• Deliver new functionality for onboarding partner integrations and customers.
• Run experiments to optimise the partner funnel and conversions.
