Job summary

iwoca is hiring a Full-stack Engineer for the Operations Engineering team in London. You will build and own full-stack services powering internal tools for the German market, from requirements with stakeholders to delivery in daily use.

You’ll contribute across backend Python and frontend React/TypeScript, modernising architecture, and driving quality through design reviews. The role offers flexible hours and a supportive growth environment.

Qualifications

• Proven track record designing and building backend systems using Python with frontend exposure.
• Experience delivering projects end to end on React/TypeScript frontends.
• Hands-on with relational databases (PostgreSQL) and performance considerations.
• Able to translate operational needs into reliable, scalable software solutions.
• Strong communication skills and ability to influence decisions within a cross-functional team.
• Familiarity with AI tooling to streamline boilerplate and complex workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design and build full-stack services supporting core operational workflows.
• Simplify workflows by automating manual steps where appropriate.
• Evolve system architecture and manage trade-offs for scale and reliability.
• Champion quality via code reviews and design discussions.
• Lead projects end to end and grow commercial judgement within the team.
