Job summary

M-KOPA Mobility is recruiting a Senior Backend Engineer to build event-driven microservices powering affordable transport across Africa. You’ll work with C#/.NET in a modern Azure-based environment, using AI coding tools like Claude Code to move faster while owning your solutions end-to-end.

Join a mission-driven team scaling rapidly with a strong DevOps culture, observability through Prometheus/Grafana, and a remote-friendly setup spanning UTC -1 to +3. Ownership and impact await.

Qualifications

• Strong grasp of C# .NET development.
• Experience with event-driven systems (Service Bus, Kafka or RabbitMQ).
• Microservices architecture experience.
• Experience with Azure or other cloud providers (AWS/GCP).
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and Docker.
• Observability tools like Prometheus and Grafana.
• Testing and deployment expertise.
• DevOps culture mindset.
• Experience with AI coding tools (Claude Code).

Responsibilities

• Build sophisticated event-driven microservices with real-world impact.
• Own solutions end-to-end from architecture decisions to production monitoring.
• Collaborate in a DevOps, CI/CD driven workflow.
• Leverage Claude Code and AI tooling to accelerate delivery.
