Job summary

M-KOPA Mobility is expanding its Backend team and is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design and build event-driven microservices that power our affordable transport platform across Africa. You’ll work with .NET on Azure, leveraging AI tooling like Claude Code to accelerate delivery.

You’ll own services end-to-end—from architecture to production monitoring—within a fast-growing, globally distributed team, embracing DevOps, observability, and continuous delivery.

Qualifications

• Strong grasp of C#/.NET development.
• Experience with event-driven systems and microservices architecture.
• Experience with Azure or other major cloud providers.
• Familiarity with containerisation and orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).
• Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
• Experience with AI coding tools, ideally Claude Code.

Responsibilities

• Build sophisticated event-driven microservices powering the Mobility platform.
• Own solutions end-to-end from architecture decisions to production monitoring.
• Collaborate in AI-assisted development using Claude Code.
• Work with .NET on Azure, Kubernetes, and Docker in a DevOps culture.
