Job summary

Sainsbury's is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to design, build, and operate enterprise-scale AWS cloud infrastructure. You will work with Product Owners, Engineers and Security to ensure secure, reliable, and cost-efficient platforms, developing automation and internal tools to improve performance and reduce manual effort.

You will participate in a 24/7 on-call rota and contribute toGovernance and SRE practices while embracing agile workflows and cross-team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Experience with AWS enterprise-scale cloud infrastructure.
• Automation of multi-account deployments via AWS Control Tower, AWS Organisations, Account Factory for Terraform (AFT).
• Proficiency with Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS CLI/SDK or similar tools.
• Scripting in TypeScript, JavaScript, or Python.
• Strong collaboration and communication with cross-functional teams and vendors.
• AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, Lambda, IAM, CloudWatch, Route 53 are a plus.
• Familiarity with NodeJS, ReactJS or similar tooling.
• Knowledge of serverless architectures and cloud networking concepts.
• Experience in CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions, Code Pipeline, Code Build.
• Front-End architecture with Next.js and React/Angular/Vue.
• API integration using RESTful and GraphQL.
• Automated testing and code quality assurance.
• Observability and security monitoring with CloudTrail, CloudWatch, New Relic.
• SRE, ITIL responsibilities and incident management.
• Agile methodologies and Jira/Confluence.

Responsibilities

• Deliver robust Cloud Infrastructure as Code and automate deployments.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Engineering, Architects and Info Security to meet business goals.
• Improve reliability, security, and cost-efficiency of platforms.
• Develop internal tools to boost performance and reduce manual work.
• Operate 24/7 BAU and on-call support as required.
