Job summary

S Sheridan Maine is partnering with a respected Central London accountancy practice to recruit an experienced Audit Senior. This role leads audits, develops client relationships, and supports growth across a diverse client portfolio spanning property, technology, and professional services.

The successful candidate will oversee planning through to completion, supervise junior staff, and ensure compliance with UK accounting and auditing standards. On-site and remote fieldwork are involved.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an accountancy practice.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
• Strong audit and accounts preparation experience.
• Experience managing audits from planning through to completion.
• Sound knowledge of UK accounting and auditing standards.

Responsibilities

• Leading audit assignments from planning through to completion for a varied portfolio of clients.
• Managing audit fieldwork both on-site and remotely, ensuring work is completed efficiently and to a high standard.
• Preparing and reviewing financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
• Identifying and communicating audit findings and recommendations to clients and senior management.
• Supervising, mentoring, and reviewing the work of junior team members.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted point of contact throughout the audit process.
• Liaising with managers and partners to ensure assignments are delivered within agreed budgets and deadlines.
• Assisting with the preparation of management reports and audit documentation.
• Keeping up to date with developments in accounting and auditing standards.
• Supporting business development activities and identifying opportunities to provide additional services to clients.
