Job summary

Sheridan Maine is pleased to partner with a respected London accountancy practice to recruit an experienced Audit Senior in Central London. The role leads audit assignments, develops client relationships, and supports growth of the audit team.

The successful candidate will have ACA or ACCA (or final stages), a minimum of 2 years' practice experience, strong UK auditing knowledge, and excellent communication, organisation, and mentoring skills.

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualification, or be in the final stages of qualification.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in an accountancy practice.
• Strong audit and accounts preparation experience.
• Experience managing audits from planning through to completion.
• Sound knowledge of UK accounting and auditing standards.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
• Strong organisational abilities with the capability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
• Experience supervising and supporting junior staff.
• A proactive and professional approach with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Leading audit assignments from planning through to completion for a varied portfolio of clients.
• Managing audit fieldwork both on-site and remotely, ensuring work is completed efficiently and to a high standard.
• Preparing and reviewing financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
• Identifying and communicating audit findings and recommendations to clients and senior management.
• Supervising, mentoring, and reviewing the work of junior team members.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted point of contact throughout the audit process.
• Liaising with managers and partners to ensure assignments are delivered within agreed budgets and deadlines.
• Assisting with the preparation of management reports and audit documentation.
• Keeping up to date with developments in accounting and auditing standards.
• Supporting business development activities and identifying opportunities to provide additional services to clients.
