Job summary

Sheridan Maine London is recruiting an Audit Supervisor for an established West London accountancy practice. The role covers managing audit assignments from planning through to completion across a varied client portfolio in a full-time permanent position.

You will lead on-site fieldwork, review working papers, ensure compliance with UK auditing standards, and develop junior colleagues while building strong client relationships. Eligible to work in the UK full time.

Qualifications

• Must have ACA or ACCA qualification, or be nearing completion.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in UK accountancy practice.
• Strong external audit experience and ability to supervise audits.
• Solid knowledge of UK auditing and accounting standards.
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
• Ability to develop junior staff and work independently within a team.

Responsibilities

• Supervising audit assignments from planning through to completion.
• Leading on-site audit work and ensuring assignments are completed accurately and within deadlines.
• Reviewing audit working papers and ensuring compliance with auditing standards.
• Acting as a key point of contact for clients throughout the audit process.
• Identifying and resolving audit issues, escalating complex matters where appropriate.
• Supervising and supporting junior team members, providing guidance and feedback.
• Liaising with Managers and Partners on audit findings and client requirements.
• Assisting with the preparation and review of statutory accounts.
• Supporting improvements to audit processes and working practices.
