Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a senior civil/railway engineer to lead design teams and oversee the production of high-quality design documentation for Derby projects. You will guide junior staff, manage scopes, budgets and schedules, and participate in bids to win work.

The role requires CRE/Deputy CRE experience, strong knowledge of Eurocodes and Network Rail standards, and the ability to liaise with clients and stakeholders across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Must hold a degree in civil or structural engineering and a recognised professional qualification (CEng/IEng).
• Experience as CRE/Deputy CRE/Workpackage Manager for railway civil engineering works or stations projects.
• Proven ability to manage stakeholder relationships with Network Rail, HS2, authorities or major contractors.
• Strong understanding of Eurocodes, DMRB, MCHW and Network Rail standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead design teams in civil/railway projects and supervise production of drawings and calculations.
• Independently perform technical work and mentor junior staff.
• Lead bids and tenders and develop client relationships.
• Manage internal technical supply chain, budgets and schedules.
• Apply engineering judgement to evaluate options and select optimal solutions.
