Job summary

Education Authority - Northern Ireland seeks an Environmental Risk Specialist – Asbestos to lead and advise on asbestos management across EA properties. You will prioritise surveys, advise schools and corporate teams, and drive compliance with CAR NI 2012 and related legislation.

Work with DoE, HSENI and external partners to deliver value and service improvements. The role requires strong leadership, strategic input, and ability to manage complex projects, with emphasis on policy implementation

Qualifications

• Proven ability to advise senior managers on complex operational matters including statutory requirements.
• Ability to build working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to implement Asbestos Management Policy.
• Commitment to continuous personal and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Devise and implement systems to monitor, measure, and report service work.
• Ensure Asbestos management priorities are delivered with high quality and value for money.
• Provide technical support for remedial projects, ensuring time, cost, quality targets.
• Contribute to service development and strategic planning for Asbestos management.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure policy adherence.
• Deputise for the Environmental Compliance Lead Officer - Asbestos as required.
