Allianz UK is seeking a Senior Accounts Technician - Accounts Payable in Guildford. The role combines technical AP leadership with governance, controls and continuous improvement in a hybrid working model, with 40% office attendance.

Salary is circa £55,000 depending on experience and location, plus a comprehensive reward package. You will drive process improvements, support audits and mentor team members while coordinating with offshore AP teams to ensure timely, accurate payments and strong

Qualifications

• Significant experience in Accounts or Accounts Payable.
• Proficient with SAP and BEx systems.
• Part qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA).
• Experience collaborating with offshore or dispersed teams.
• Excellent Excel and MS Office skills.
• Strong understanding of financial transactions and reporting.
• Ability to mentor and support colleagues in a team.
• Experience operating within a controls and governance framework.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to identify opportunities to improve processes and controls.

Responsibilities

• Act as AP SME for designated workstreams, providing technical leadership.
• Improve controls and support audit recommendations to strengthen governance.
• Drive continuous improvement through simplification, automation and standardisation.
• Own and coordinate the external audit process for your area.
• Support projects relating to Accounting Harmonisation and payment process improvements.
• Identify opportunities for process simplification and sustainable solutions.
• Develop strong relationships with internal and external customers.
• Build and maintain an effective control framework for payments and reconciliations.
• Mentor colleagues and provide cover during absences.
• Monitor AP KPIs to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
