Job summary

Allianz UK is seeking a Senior Accounts Technician - Accounts Payable to lead AP workstreams, mentor colleagues, and drive governance and continuous improvement. The role supports audits, harmonisation projects, and optimization of payment processes in a hybrid Guildford office.

The ideal candidate brings deep AP experience, SAP/BEx knowledge, and professional accounting qualifications, with a track record of collaborating with offshore teams and delivering value across finance operations.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in an Accounts/Accounts Payable function.
• Strong knowledge of SAP and BEx systems.
• Part Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA or ACA).
• Experience collaborating with offshore or dispersed teams to achieve objectives.
• Excellent Excel skills and MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Act as Accounts Payable SME for your workstream, providing leadership and ensuring processes align with global models and governance.
• Drive improvements to controls and support audit recommendations to strengthen governance.
• Lead continuous improvement in AP through simplification, standardisation, automation and best practice.
• Own and coordinate external audit process for your area and engage stakeholders.
• Support projects related to accounting harmonisation and payment process improvements.
• Develop strong relationships with internal and external customers and ensure outputs meet business needs.
• Maintain a robust control framework for payments and reconciliations within agreed timescales.
• Collaborate with offshore AP teams to ensure consistent process execution and issue resolution.
