Job summary

Standard Life, a retirement specialist focused entirely on retirement savings and income, is seeking a senior, hands‑on engineer to shape and evolve the Amazon Connect platform that underpins customer contact services across Pensions & Savings.

You will lead design and delivery across routing, telephony, digital channels, workforce and quality capabilities, integrations, automation and operational tooling, while mentoring engineers and collaborating with product, security, risk and operations

Qualifications

Significant experience designing, building and operating Amazon Connect or similar cloud contact-centre.
Hands-on knowledge of contact flows, queues, routing, telephony and contact-centre operations.
Strong AWS integration experience and practical Terraform or CDK expertise.
Security, resilience, observability, FinOps and cost-conscious platform design.

Responsibilities

Lead the design and evolution of secure, scalable Amazon Connect services for voice and digital channels.
Engineer integrations with CRM, identity, data, payment, case-management and workforce systems using AWS.
Create reusable infrastructure as code with Terraform, CDK and GitHub.
Embed security, resilience, observability and cost controls in platform design and live operations.
Resolve routing and telephony issues; guide safe migration from legacy services.
Partner with product, operations, architecture, security and risk teams; mentor engineers.
