Job summary

AWE plc is seeking a Senior AI-Assisted Software Engineer to own end-to-end delivery of secure, high-quality software using AI-enabled development techniques. The role anchors on-site work within the AI Capability Development team, translating business requirements into robust applications.

You will mentor junior developers, accelerate coding and testing with AI tools, and shape designs alongside specialists, contributing to the AI Factory mission while upholding governance and Responsible AI

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
3–5+ years of software engineering experience.
Experience with modern development practices and tools.
Strong software development skills.
Experience acting as technical lead or senior developer is a plus.

Responsibilities

Deliver robust software solutions from design through release using AI-assisted tools.
Ensure software is secure, scalable, and compliant with governance standards.
Pilot and integrate new AI-assisted engineering tools and methodologies.
Mentor junior developers in AI-assisted development.
Collaborate with AI Adoption teams, data engineers, and IT infrastructure to ensure smooth deployment.
