Job summary

PulsePoint is seeking a senior backend engineer to drive a dual-focus role split roughly 50/50 between AI work on GCP and core platform engineering. You will build MCP/agent tooling, ship LLM-backed features into our portals, and mentor AI-enabled dev practices across the team.

The role requires strong production Python and Java with Spring Boot, along with hands-on Kubernetes and Cloud Run. You’ll work on REST APIs and modernize legacy Java systems.

Qualifications

• 6+ years professional software engineering experience.
• Shipped a real LLM-backed product to production users.
• Hands-on GCP + Kubernetes (Cloud Run, IAM, Secret Manager).
• Strong production Python.
• Strong production Java with Spring Boot, designs, builds, tests, reviews REST services independently.
• Practical fluency with AI dev tools (Claude Code, Codex, etc.).
• Nice to have: MCP/tool-calling experience, RAG in production, legacy Java migration exposure.

Responsibilities

• Dual-focus: ~50/50 between AI on GCP and core platform engineering.
• Build MCP/agent tooling and ship LLM-backed features into PulsePoint portals.
• Develop and maintain production REST APIs using Java 21 / Spring Boot; modernize legacy systems.
