Pulse Group is partnering with a fast-growing AI startup in London to hire a Backend Engineer. The role offers genuine ownership and the opportunity to work directly with the CTO and founders on an AI-native product.

You’ll build backend infrastructure and APIs, make architectural decisions, and tackle scaling challenges. Expect involvement with Celery-based background tasks, LLM integrations, and RAG pipelines, taking features from idea through production.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience with Python/Django.
• Strong ownership of production systems.
• Experience with APIs and scalable backend infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Build backend infrastructure powering an AI-native product.
• Own APIs, orchestration, and background processing tasks.
• Integrate LLMs and RAG pipelines for AI features.
• Shape architecture and scale systems as the company grows.
• Take features from idea through to production.
