Job summary

Alliants is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Southampton to own system design across a fast-evolving platform. You will shape the architecture, oversee an AI-native delivery pipeline built around TypeScript and agents, and ensure guardrails, tests, and audits align with production-readiness.

You’ll partner with a product manager, operate autonomously, and drive end-to-end outcomes in a small team. The role is hybrid with an anchor day in the Southampton office.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building and operating production software at senior level.
• Strong system design capability with trade-offs in performance, cost and complexity.
• Platform/DevOps mindset: CI/CD, delivery pipelines and tooling.
• Hands-on experience directing AI coding agents in production.
• Strong TypeScript experience and API/data focus (GraphQL/REST, Postgres, AWS).

Responsibilities

• Own large, ambiguous problems from framing to production.
• Set architectural direction and maintain trade-off records.
• Build delivery pipeline to turn intent into shippable code.
• Write and maintain evals, tests and guardrails.
• Review generated code and ensure production readiness.
• Release to production daily and diagnose issues quickly.
• Remove friction from the delivery loop and raise engineering effectiveness.
• Translate decisions into plain language for stakeholders.
