Job summary

Curtis Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant for a friendly Wokingham accountancy practice. You will manage a portfolio of mainly small businesses and sole traders, preparing statutory accounts and tax returns, with scope for hybrid working after probation.

ACCA or ACA qualified is required; exceptional part-qualified candidates may be considered. You should have solid UK practice experience, strong communication skills, and be able to prioritise workloads to meet

Qualifications

• Be ACA or ACCA qualified, although, an exceptional part qualified or qualified by experience accountant may be considered
• Have significant accounts and tax experience within a UK accountancy firm
• Experience of independently managing a portfolio of clients
• Able to prioritise and manage workload to meet deadlines
• Have excellent communication skills
• Be flexible in your approach, self-motivated and diligent

Responsibilities

• Managing a portfolio of 40-50 clients comprising small business and sole traders
• Provide ongoing support and advice to clients and advising as appropriate
• Statutory accounts preparation and review
• Preparing personal and corporation tax returns
• Prepare and submit VAT returns
• Bookkeeping and reconciliations
• Ad hoc duties to support the smooth running of the team
