Job summary

Get Recruited (UK) Ltd in Chester is seeking a qualified Senior Accountant for a permanent, full-time role hybrid across client SMEs and startups. You will prepare statutory accounts, management accounts and corporation tax returns while advising clients on financial performance.

ACA/ACCA qualified with at least three years in practice; you will be the principal contact for clients, manage workflows, and mentor junior colleagues while liaising with HMRC and external advisers as required.

Qualifications

• Must be ACA/ACCA qualified and practising
• Experience in accounting for SMEs and startups
• Strong client-management and communication skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of SME and startup clients
• Prepare statutory accounts for various entity types
• Prepare management accounts and VAT returns
• Produce corporation tax computations and returns
• Liaise with HMRC and external advisers as needed
• Review junior staff work and provide coaching
