Job summary

Curtis Recruitment Ltd is seeking an Accounts & Business Services Senior for a well-established accountancy firm in the UK. The role requires ACCA/ACA qualification with substantial UK practice experience and involves leading assignments, reviewing junior staff work, and building client relationships.

The candidate will plan and monitor workloads, prepare final accounts and corporation tax computations, ensure statutory filings, and support partners in fee discussions.

Qualifications

• ACCA or ACA qualification, or equivalent senior-level experience.
• Significant accounts experience within a UK accountancy practice.
• Ability to supervise and coach junior staff.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Support partners and managers in providing quality accounting and business services to a varied client portfolio.
• Plan assignments and oversee the work of junior staff where appropriate.
• Prepare final accounts and review junior work for accuracy and quality.
• Compute business tax and draft corporate tax returns.
• Ensure all statutory returns are filed on time.
• Plan and monitor own workflow and manage accounts work finances.
• Contribute to fee quotes and obtain manager/partner approval as required.
• Maintain regular client contact by phone, email, and in person as a day-to-day contact.
• Coach trainees and junior staff; provide feedback and guidance.
• Undertake ad hoc projects as requested by managers/partners.
