Job summary

Curtis Recruitment is seeking a Senior Accountant in Wokingham to join a friendly accountancy practice. Ideally ACA/ACCA qualified with UK practice experience, managing 40–50 client portfolios. The role offers office-based work with hybrid options after probation and settling in.

A competitive salary and benefits are included. Responsibilities include statutory accounts, personal and corporation tax returns, VAT, bookkeeping and ad hoc duties to support the team.

Qualifications

• Be ACA or ACCA qualified, or exceptional part qualified or by experience considered
• Significant accounts and tax experience within a UK accountancy firm
• Experience independently managing a client portfolio
• Able to prioritise and meet deadlines
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience with Sage, Xero, IRIS, CCH, TaxCalc, FreeAgent and Excel beneficial
• Live within a reasonable commuting distance of Wokingham

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of 40–50 clients (small business and sole traders)
• Provide ongoing support and advice to clients
• Statutory accounts preparation and review
• Prepare personal and corporation tax returns
• Prepare and submit VAT returns
• Bookkeeping and reconciliations
• Ad hoc duties to support the team
