Stride Resource Management Ltd in Birmingham is seeking a Senior Commercial Account Handler to take ownership of larger and more complex client accounts, with renewals and servicing.

You will work across Motor Fleet, Motor Trade and general commercial insurance, negotiate with insurers on renewals and provide practical insurance advice, benefiting from a discretionary bonus and a flexible hybrid working pattern.

Qualifications

• Solid background in commercial insurance broking, with experience handling larger or more technically demanding accounts.

Take responsibility for handling larger and more complex commercial insurance accounts, working with clients whose insurance requirements can reach £500,000 in value. This Senior Account Handler opportunity in Birmingham offers a salary of up to £42,000, discretionary bonus and flexible hybrid working within an established insurance broking business.

You'll be joining a business with particular strengths in Motor Fleet and Motor Trade insurance, alongside a varied general commercial portfolio. There is also a growing focus on S& A and international business, providing opportunities to broaden your experience and work with more complex client requirements.

The opportunity

This is a senior technical broking position, offering the opportunity to take ownership of larger accounts and play an important role in maintaining strong client relationships.

• Larger commercial accounts: Handle commercial insurance clients with account values reaching £500,000, taking responsibility for renewals and ongoing servicing.
• Technical broking: Manage complex renewals, negotiate with insurers and ensure appropriate coverage is arranged for clients.
• Motor Fleet and Motor Trade: Work across established specialist portfolios alongside a broad range of general commercial insurance risks.
• Client relationships: Build strong relationships with commercial clients, understanding their businesses and providing practical insurance advice.
• Broader market exposure: Gain experience within a business developing its S& A and international insurance offering.
• Account ownership: Take responsibility for your workload, working closely with Account Executives and colleagues to deliver a high standard of service.

Who would suit it?

This position would suit an experienced Senior Commercial Account Handler or a technically strong Account Handler ready to take on larger and more complex clients.

You'll ideally bring:

• A solid background in commercial insurance broking, with experience managing larger or more technically demanding accounts.
• Good knowledge of Motor Fleet, Motor Trade or a broad range of commercial insurance products.
• Confidence negotiating with insurers, managing renewals and handling more complicated insurance requirements.
• Strong client relationship skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and provide practical advice.
• The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and maintain high standards of accuracy.

You don't need to have worked across every class of commercial insurance. Strong technical knowledge, sound judgement and the ability to manage client relationships are the priorities.

The package

• Basic salary: Up to £42,000, depending on experience.
• Bonus: Discretionary bonus.
• Location: Birmingham.
• Hybrid working: Typically three days per week in the office, with considerable flexibility around working arrangements.
