Take responsibility for an established Professional Indemnity portfolio generating between £300,000 and £400,000 in annual brokerage income, managing relationships with solicitors and law firms while developing the book over time. You'll be working with clients whose insurance arrangements require a strong understanding of professional liability exposures, with individual premiums reaching approximately £250,000.
This Senior Account Executive opportunity is with an established insurance broker offering a flexible approach to working, with just one day per week in the office. The role is focused primarily on looking after an existing portfolio, retaining important clients and providing specialist advice, rather than aggressive new business generation.
The opportunity
- Inherit and manage an established Professional Indemnity portfolio generating approximately £300,000 to £400,000 in annual brokerage income.
- Work predominantly with solicitors and law firms, understanding their professional indemnity exposures and advising on appropriate insurance arrangements.
- Handle substantial PI accounts, including clients paying premiums of up to £250,000.
- Lead renewal discussions, review coverage requirements and work with insurers and broking colleagues to negotiate suitable terms for clients.
- Build lasting relationships with partners and senior decision-makers, providing advice on changing risks, policy conditions and the wider professional indemnity market.
- Retain and develop the existing portfolio, identifying opportunities to strengthen client relationships and generate additional income.
- Contribute to new business development where appropriate, although the main emphasis is on servicing and growing the established book rather than building a portfolio from scratch.
Who would suit it?
- You’ll have strong Professional Indemnity insurance experience within the broking market, ideally with direct exposure to solicitors' PI.
- You’ll be confident discussing professional liability exposures, policy coverage, renewal negotiations and insurer requirements.
- You’ll have experience managing established client relationships and handling more substantial or technically involved PI accounts.
- You’ll enjoy working closely with professional services clients, understanding their businesses and providing dependable advice.
- You’ll be commercially minded and able to identify opportunities for portfolio growth without needing a heavily sales-driven environment.
- You’ll be comfortable taking ownership of a significant book of business while working collaboratively with broking and servicing colleagues.
