Job summary

Gloucestershire County Council’s SENDIASS Gloucestershire service seeks a Team Manager to lead day-to-day operations, supervise advisors and ensure impartial, high-quality information and support for families and young people with SEND. The role covers Gloucestershire with travel to locations as needed.

You will work to maintain confidentiality, develop staff, and ensure compliance with SEND Code of Practice while coordinating with education, health and care professionals.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership and team management experience.
• Excellent organisational skills to manage workflow and prioritise demands.
• Ability to provide clear guidance on complex SEND cases.
• High-level communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with families, professionals and stakeholders.
• Problem-solving and decision-making abilities in challenging situations.
• Commitment to impartiality and confidentiality in SENDIASS work.
• Knowledge of SEND legislation and the SEND Code of Practice.
• Confidence in using IT systems for case management and reporting.
• Enhanced DBS check is required before appointment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operational management and leadership of the SENDIASS team.
• Oversee case allocation, monitor progress and ensure timely, high-quality delivery of advice.
• Supervise Case Advisors and support professional development.
• Lead operational queries and implement policies and procedures.
• Monitor service performance and contribute to strategic development.
• Travel across Gloucestershire to fulfill role requirements.
