Job summary

Cambridgeshire County Council is recruiting a full-time SENDIASS Adviser to join our dedicated team. You will provide impartial, confidential, arm's-length guidance across education, health and social care to parents, carers and young people.

You will manage a caseload aged 0–25, attend meetings, and help families understand SEND legislation and processes to achieve the best outcomes. The role involves travel across Cambridgeshire, Peterborough and Rutland, with New Shire Hall, Alconbury Weald

Qualifications

• Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to listen empathetically and build positive relationships with families and a wide range of stakeholders.
• Resilient and adaptable, able to handle sensitive information and stay calm under pressure.
• Solid understanding of current SEND legislation and practice, and professionalism to work in a team or independently.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored information, advice, and support to families on SEND-related matters, including SEN support, statutory assessments, EHCPs, mediation, tribunals and local services.
• Attend meetings and hearings with families; record detailed, accurate interactions in the database.
• Collaborate with local authorities, health services and voluntary sectors to deliver joined-up support; develop and deliver workshops on SEND topics.
