Job summary

Kingstone High School in Herefordshire is seeking a SENDCo to cover a maternity leave on a fixed-term contract. You will lead SEND provision and work to ensure compliance with the SEN Code of Practice while supporting inclusive teaching.

The role involves coordinating the SEN register, EHCP reviews, liaising with families and external agencies, and supporting staff with best practices. There is limited teaching commitment and you'll join the Senior Leadership Team.

Qualifications

• Experience with pupils with a range of additional needs.
• QTS holder with SEND experience preferred.
• Knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and current legislation.
• Strong communication, leadership and time management skills.
• Commitment to inclusion and pupil wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with the SEN Code of Practice and statutory requirements.
• Maintain and manage the SEN register and coordinate EHCP reviews.
• Lead and manage SEND provision across the school.
• Coordinate delivery of high-quality teaching and intervention with inclusive practices.
• Advise and coach staff in best practices for supporting pupils with SEN.
• Liaise with parents, carers and external agencies to support progress.
• Work with teaching staff to promote inclusive classroom practice.
• Be part of the school’s senior leadership team and contribute to whole-school improvement.
• Note that this role will have little or no teaching commitment.
