Job summary

Kingstone High School is seeking a SENDCo to cover a maternity leave on a fixed term contract. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced SEND practitioner, or an ambitious teacher ready to take the next step to lead and develop SEND provision within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

You will ensure compliance with the SEN Code of Practice, manage the SEN register and EHCP reviews, lead SEND provision across the school, and work closely with staff, parents, and external

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and NASENCO or working towards it.
• Strong communication, leadership and time-management skills.
• Experience working with pupils with a range of additional needs.
• Knowledge of SEN Code of Practice and relevant legislation.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with the SEN Code of Practice and statutory requirements.
• Maintain and manage the SEN register and coordinate EHCP reviews.
• Lead and manage SEND provision across the school.
• Coordinate the delivery of high-quality teaching and intervention.
• Advise and coach staff in best practices for supporting pupils with SEN.
• Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to support student progress.
• Work closely with teaching staff to promote inclusive classroom practice.
• Be part of the school’s senior leadership team and contribute to whole-school improvement.
