Job summary

Kingstone High School in Herefordshire is seeking a SENDCo to cover a maternity leave on a fixed-term contract. This role focuses on leading SEND provision with minimal teaching commitment and a strong emphasis on inclusion and student progress.

You will coordinate EHCP reviews, manage the SEN register, and work with staff, parents and external agencies to drive whole-school SEND improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience with pupils with a range of additional needs.
• QTS required.
• NASENCO or working towards NASENCO desired.
• Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and relevant legislation.
• Excellent communication, leadership and time management skills.
• Passion for inclusion and pupil wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with the SEN Code of Practice and statutory requirements.
• Maintain and manage the SEN register and coordinate EHCP reviews.
• Lead and manage SEND provision across the school.
• Coordinate the delivery of high‑quality teaching and intervention with inclusive practices.
• Advise and coach staff in best practices for supporting pupils with SEN.
• Liaise with parents, carers and external agencies to support student progress.
• Work closely with teaching staff to promote high‑quality, inclusive classroom practice.
• Be part of the school's senior leadership team and contribute to whole‑school improvement.
