Job summary

Icknield Primary School in the heart of Luton is seeking a dedicated SENDCo to lead inclusive practice across the school, nurturing every pupil on the SEND register and driving outcomes. The successful candidate will work directly with teachers, support staff and families to coordinate EHCP processes, manage the Deaf Provision, and shape policy under the SEND Code of Practice 2015.

With Main Pay Scale plus TLR and SEN allowance, you will join a committed team and have opportunities for

Qualifications

  • Must be a qualified teacher with drive to improve SEND outcomes.
  • Detailed knowledge of each child on the SEND register and their needs.
  • Confident managing EHCPs from referral to annual review.
  • Able to partner with families, LA and agencies.
  • Lead and support a team of TAs and specialist staff.
  • NPQ for SENCOs (NASENCO) or willing to complete within 3 years.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate SEND provision across the school.
  • Oversee EHC needs assessments and annual reviews.
  • Line manage SEND staff and support services.
  • Collaborate with SLT, teachers, parents and external agencies.
  • Ensure Deaf Provision is integrated and effective.
