Job summary

John Keats Primary School is seeking an inspirational SENDCo to lead, develop and monitor inclusive provision for pupils with additional needs. You will coach staff, oversee EHCPs, and ensure high standards of teaching and learning for SEND pupils.

Collaborate with families and external agencies, maintain records, and contribute to school improvement planning. A commitment to wellbeing, safeguarding, and Pride in achievement is essential.

• Leadership experience or willingness to train for SENDCo qualification.

Responsibilities

• Champion excellence in SEND and inclusive provision for every pupil.
• Hold high aspirations for SEND pupils and drive their growth.
• Direct and oversee high standards of teaching and learning for SEND.
• Ensure consistent delivery of school policies and practices.
• Observe pupils in class and coach colleagues to improve skills.
• Keep SEND paperwork, records, and policies up to date and actionable.
• Engage with families to support SEND and pupil healthcare.
• Collaborate with professionals and agencies to support diverse needs.
• Monitor quality of SEND support delivered by teachers and teaching assistants.
• Maintain SEND register and lead Needs Assessments and EHCPs.
• Raise awareness of SEND issues across staff to foster inclusion.
• Model professionalism and positive attitude for pupils.
• Ensure pupil safety in line with school procedures.
• Inspire success and drive excellence.
