Job summary

Uckfield College is seeking an ambitious SENDCO to lead our Learning Plus department and support the Leader of Inclusion and Strategic SENDCO. The successful candidate will develop our SEND strategy and ensure high quality provision for students with additional needs through strong leadership and communication.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate significant experience of working in a leadership role, preferably with strong involvement in SEND;
• Exhibit a good understanding of current SEND legislation, policy and practice, including a range of SEND needs and interventions and strategies for supporting children and young people with SEND;
• Can lead a team collaboratively, demonstrating strong leadership and management skills;
• Are passionate about inclusivity;
• Are able to build strong relationships with staff, children and parents/carers;
• Have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills;
• Demonstrate high aspirations for students and themselves.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Learning Plus department and support the Leader of Inclusion and Strategic SENDCO.
• Develop and implement SEND strategy to improve provision and outcomes for students with additional needs.
• Coordinate interventions, liaise with staff and parents, and monitor progress.
