Job summary

Collaton St Mary Church of England Primary School is seeking an exceptional SENDCo to support learners with additional needs. You will work with staff and families to identify barriers, develop personalised improvement plans, and ensure accurate EHCP processes are followed to benefit pupils.

The role requires knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice, collaboration with the Headteacher and community, and a commitment to inclusive education for all learners. National SENDCo qualification is welcomed.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and EHCP processes.
  • Ability to form personalised improvement plans with staff and families.
  • Experience monitoring SEND provision and recording impact.

Responsibilities

  • Support SEND children and families by identifying barriers to learning and adopting strategies.
  • Work with staff and families to formulate personalised plans for improvement.
  • Use knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and EHCP process to support pupils.
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality and impact of SEND provision across the school.
  • Keep accurate records of SEND support and ensure statutory requirements are met.
  • Collaborate with the Headteacher, LAB and community to translate ethos into action.
  • Attend Trust-wide inclusion meetings and meetings with parents and other providers.
  • Ensure an inclusive school experience for all learners and close gaps for vulnerable learners.
  • Hold the National SENDCo Qualification or work toward achieving it.

Job description

We are looking toappoint an exceptional candidate (with knowledge of Torbay processes desirable)who:

  • Can support SEND children and theirfamilies through identifying barriers to learning and adopting strategies thathelp overcome these
  • Demonstrates a commitment to inclusive educationfor all children by working with staff and families to formulate personalisedplans for improvement.
  • Uses knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice andunderstands the EHCP process and Early Help services to support pupils andfamilies. Who can work alongside teachers toprovide advice and develop impactful class strategies
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality andimpact of SEND provision across the school
  • Forms positive relationships and inspiresand motivates all children to enable them to be the best that they can be
  • Keeps up to date and accurate records ofsupport and the impact regarding SEND provision
  • Reviews and update all records to ensurethat statutory requirements are met
  • Work in partnership with theHeadteacher, LAB and wider community to ensure that our mission and ethos istranslated into action
  • Participate in Trust-wide inclusionmeetings
  • Attend meetings with parents, teachersand other providers to ensure all pupils’ needs are met
  • Ensures an inclusive school experiencefor al learners, not just those with SEND
  • Work with the wider team to close thegap for vulnerable and disadvantaged learners
  • Holds the National SENDCoQualification or is willing to work towardsachieving it.
