Job summary

An experienced SENCO is sought for an immediate start at a large inclusive school in Barnet, North London. You will lead the strategic and day-to-day SEND provision, working closely with the Headteacher and SLT to drive high-quality support for pupils with SEND.

You will oversee identification, assessment and interventions, develop inclusive practices, lead staff training, coordinate with families and external agencies, and ensure compliant records and safeguarding.

Qualifications

  • Experience leading SEND provision in a large school.
  • Strong knowledge of SEND Code of Practice and safeguarding.
  • Excellent communication with staff, parents and external agencies.

Experienced SENCO - Immediate Start | Barnet, North London

A large, inclusive school in Barnet, North London is seeking an experienced SENCO for an immediate start.

This is an exciting opportunity for a confident SEND leader to take responsibility for the strategic and day-to-day leadership of SEND provision across the school.

Working closely with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team, the successful candidate will drive high-quality SEND provision, ensuring pupils with additional needs receive the support, intervention and opportunities they need to thrive.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the school's SEND provision in line with the school SEND Code of Practice.
  • Oversee the identification, assessment and support of pupils with SEND.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality, inclusive provision across the school.
  • Lead on adaptive teaching, staff training and professional development.
  • Support provision for pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs.
  • Work closely with teachers, teaching assistants, parents, carers and external agencies.
  • Maintain accurate SEND records, policies and statutory documentation.
  • Monitor pupil progress and ensure interventions are effective.
  • Support safeguarding and the needs of vulnerable pupils.
  • Manage SEND resources and contribute to school improvement priorities.
