Job summary

Catcliffe Primary School is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to support learning for children with SEND. The role focuses on individual support, small groups, and adapting materials to pupils’ needs, with a commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education.

Working a 32.5 hour week, you will join a team dedicated to high standards and positive outcomes for every child, building strong relationships and promoting the school’s values.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at least Grade 4 essential.
• Experience planning and delivering learning activities essential.
• Experience in a school environment, especially with SEN, essential.
• Experience leading playground activities.

Responsibilities

• Work with individual children, including children with SEND and EHCPs.
• Prepare learning materials and adapt teaching support according to pupils’ needs.
• Look after children’s physical, social and emotional welfare, including first aid duties.
• Lead intervention groups.

We are seeking to appoint an experienced Teaching Assistant who are able to support the learning of children with SEND.

The successful candidates will be excellent classroom practitioners with experience of working with children with a range of needs and who are dedicated to enabling children to achieve their personal best.

They will:

Work with individual children, including children with SEND and EHCPs.

Be able to work as part of a team

Prepare learning materials and adapt teaching support according to childrenʼs needs

Look after children's physical, social and emotional welfare-including first aid duties

Be creative and innovative

Have high expectations of achievement and behaviour

Be committed to promoting and upholding the school values and ethos

Promote and support the inclusion of all pupils, including those with specific needs.

Be motivated and passionate to achieve the very best for the children in our care and make a genuine difference

Use initiative to assess and evaluate pupils' needs
