Job summary

Lancashire County Council at Highfield Community Primary School is seeking a Level TA2B Teaching Assistant to support children with SEND within the Specialist Inclusion Base. You will deliver high-quality, individualized care and education, focusing on children with ASC and EHCPs.

The role emphasizes trauma-informed approaches, autism-friendly strategies and close collaboration with the school team to monitor progress and adapt resources. Part-time, term-time only with pro‑rata salary.

Qualifications

• 5 GCSEs at minimum grade 4 or above including Maths and English.
• TA2 qualification or equivalent or relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted classroom and small-group support aligned to EHCPs.
• Use trauma-informed practice to create a nurturing environment for pupils.
• Implement autism-friendly strategies with visual supports and routines.
• Provide dignified personal care and support tailored to individual needs.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs and external agencies to track progress.
