Job summary

Connex Education are recruiting a caring and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a specialist SEND school in Mansfield. This role focuses on helping pupils access learning and develop independence, with support from experienced staff.

Candidates should hold a L2/L3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience, and be prepared to assist with personal care and moving and handling. DBS verified and local to Mansfield preferred.

Qualifications

• L2/L3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to build rapport with pupils and colleagues.
• Experience supporting pupils in a British curriculum setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils in a specialist SEND environment.
• Support pupils with complex needs, communication difficulties and physical disabilities.
• Assist with personal care, mobility and moving/handling as required.
• Promote pupils' social, emotional and behavioural development throughout the day.
• Prepare resources and assist with classroom organisation.
