Job summary

Aspire People in Romford is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in the Romford area. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with additional needs and work closely with class teachers and the SEND team.

The ideal candidate will have experience with SEND, be patient and a strong communicator, and able to build positive relationships with pupils. This is a long-term, ongoing position with competitive daily pay of 100-110 depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND is desirable.
• Ability to provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEND.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with teachers and SENCO.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEND.
• Support pupils with learning, development and engagement in lessons.
• Help manage behaviour and promote positive relationships.
• Support pupils with communication, social and emotional development.
• Implement individual learning and support strategies.
• Work with teachers and the SENCO to ensure appropriate support.
• Help pupils develop confidence, independence and key life skills.
• Support a positive, inclusive and safe classroom environment.
