Job summary

Aspire People is recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant for a long-term role in Romford, Essex. The post involves working closely with teachers and the SEND team to provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEND, enhancing learning and engagement in lessons.

Ideal candidates will have experience with SEND, be patient and reliable, and able to build strong relationships with pupils. The role offers ongoing opportunities within a welcoming school environment and competitive daily pay based

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND is desirable.
• Patience, compassion and confidence in supporting individual needs.
• Calm and consistent when managing challenging behaviour.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEND.
• Support pupils with learning, development and engagement in lessons.
• Help manage behaviour and promote positive relationships.
• Support communication, social and emotional development.
• Follow individual learning and support strategies with the SENCO guidance.
