Job summary

Protocol Education Ltd in Romford is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with diverse needs. You will work closely with teachers and the SEND team to deliver tailored support inside and outside the classroom.

Ideal candidates have experience with children in school/SEN settings, a caring, patient approach, and strong communication. Training in SEN or TA qualifications is desirable but not essential.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children, ideally in school, SEN, or care settings.
• Patient, caring and empathetic approach.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building with pupils and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with additional needs.
• Assist delivery of targeted interventions and personalised learning activities.
• Support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development.
• Help implement strategies outlined in EHCPs and support plans.
• Promote independence, confidence and positive engagement in learning.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents and external professionals to support pupil progress.
• Create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
